2. Introduction and Overview
2.1. Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the neoVI MIC 2 handheld trigger. The neoVI MIC 2 provides two main functions:
Allows for manual trigger of Intrepid products with a USB Host Port (neoVI Fire 2, neoVI ION, neoVI Fire 3, neoVI Red 2, neoVI PI, RAD-Gigastar and RAD-Mars etc.)
Records audio annotations to match with manual triggers.
2.2. Package Contents
The neoVI MIC 2 package has no other accessories, so it ships in a package on its own. This is often included with other Intrepid products as an optional accessory.
2.3. Operational Overview
The neoVI MIC 2 is very simple to operate. Once you plug into a supported neoVI and power cycle the product, the neoVI MIC 2 is ready to use. Pressing the button results in triggering the attached device and a beep from the neoVI MIC 2.
If your attached device supports audio annotation, the neoVI MIC 2 sends an audio stream to the attached device for recording the annotation. This audio stream lasts for approximately 20 seconds.
2.4. Hardware and Software Requirements
The neoVI MIC 2 can be used with many of Intrepid’s data logger solutions:
The neoVI ION requires no configuration to use the neoVI MIC 2. Simply plug in neoVI MIC 2 to your neoVI ION Host Port and power cycle the product, the neoVI MIC 2 is ready to use.
To configure the neoVI Fire 2 and RAD-Galaxy require configuration via the neoVI Explorer. Step by step instructions are located in the Hardware and Software part of documentation.
